Since its inception, very little has changed about the toolbox. There have been some improvements in organization or material construction, but as a whole the toolbox as we know it has been little more than a metal tub to hold your wrenches. A new startup has created what it is calling the Coolbox, and it’s the first toolbox that seems built for today’s homeowner. The Coolbox is a toolbox like many others, but the team behind the design has tried to cram as many useful features as possible into a single plastic shell. There is a magnetic parts tray, dry-erase board, Bluetooth stereo, clock, extension cord, power outlets, USB ports, integrated battery, tablet stand and flood light all integrated into the construction. The interior of the Coolbox is even segregated in a way that you could use part of it as a cooler.

The product is not for sale yet, but the team behind it has hit Indiegogo for funding. Within in a day it had hit its goal of $50k and has since raised over $146,000. If you want a Coolbox, the cheapest way to grab one is by jumping into the crowd-funding program with a donation of $160. That is savings of $130 over the estimated retail price of $299.
