That Racing Channel is no stranger to absurdly fast, modified cars, and this time is no exception either. A year ago, we talked about “Kratos” – a Generation five Dodge Viper ACR, modified by Nth Moto. Last year, the 3,300-wheel horsepower “Kratos” became the roll race champion at the 2021 FL2K. This year, the car attended the 2022 TX2K where it became the first six-second generation-five Dodge Viper.

Before we delve into what’s new with Kratos, for 2022, the car makes a warm-up run against a white Nissan GT-R. The Viper wins, by completing the quarter-mile in 9.654 seconds at just over 182 mph (293 km/h). Kratos blasted through the first qualifying round with another nine-second run, but this time with an insane trap speed of 225.71 mph (363.24 km/h). It would not be the car’s fastest run for the day.

During the semi-finals, disaster almost struck “Kratos” while it was racing against another Viper. At 226.58 mph (364.64 km/h) water was pushed under the car’s rear tires, causing it to lose traction and scrape the wall. Luckily, any serious damage was avoided for both cars and their drivers.

Aaron from Nth Moto talked in front of TRC about what’s new for Kratos. The car is “currently the quickest and fastest Gen-Five Viper in the quarter-mile”, with a time of 6.908 seconds at 210.28 mph (338.41 km/h). Moreover, Kratos boasts the highest trap speed of any rear-wheel-drive car and Aaron adds that he’s fairly certain “it’s the only time a rear-wheel-drive car has been the number one qualifier in this event”.

“Kratos” boasts a 540 cubic-inch (8.85-liter) twin-turbo V-10 that has been built by Nth Moto in-house. The engine is good for 3,306 rear-wheel horsepower and is mated to a sequential transmission. At the rear, you will find 315/60R15 ET Street radial pro tires – the widest, available, at the time of building “Kratos”. More impressive is that the 2016 Viper ACR still has a full interior, with the most visible differences being the race seats and the obligatory roll-cage.

Last year, while at the 2021 FL2K, Nth Moto stated that it will be looking at ways to make “Kratos” even faster, without touching the power output. Being the first six-second Generation Five Viper says more than enough. Moreover, the Viper specialists stated that they are yet to find the limits of the Viper platform, which apparently, also refers to the V-10 that still has a stock block and heads. Oh yes, “Kratos” is also street-legal.
