There are days that are worth circling in the calendar, and if you happen to be fans of The Grand Tour, July 11 counts as one of those days. Ok, so the third annual Amazon Prime Day falls on that day too and that’s a big deal in it of itself. One of the treats included in the festivities though is the first trailer of motoring show’s second season, and according to Amazon, we’re going to get our fill of Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond as they embark on trips in “Mozambique, Switzerland, and the UK.”

No details were spared on how long the new teaser trailer is going to be, but it did say that it’ll include footage from Switzerland, the country where Hammond injured his knee after crashing the Rimac Concept One he was driving at the Hemberg Bergrennen hill climb. Maybe we’ll get to see a quick look at the crash from a behind-the-scenes angle. Or maybe there’s footage of the Hamster crashing his motor bike in Mozambique as well. Whatever this trailer contains, we can at least be certain of one thing. The Grand Tour is itching closer and closer to returning, even with the projected production delays brought about by Hammond’s injury. So circle the date, boys and girls. The Grand Tour’s first trailer for season number two drops on July 11.

Will the scheduled premier date be delayed in light of Hammond’s injury?

Neither Amazon nor Jeremy Clarkson have given any indications that the October premiere date for the second season of the show will be delayed. What’s clear, according to Jezza, is that production has been delayed because of Hammond’s injury.

In his column on Drive Tribe, Clarkson added that he and May will be filling Hammond’s shoes as he recovers from his injury. For his part, he’s working feverishly to rewrite the show’s script while May will be taking Hammond’s place on production shoots that he should have been doing. As for the injured member of the trio, he’s apparently showing up in the The Grand Tour’s office to fulfill duties like “refilling the photocopier, making coffee, and organizing the storeroom.” At least he’s still putting in some work, or as Clarkson calls it, “manual labor.”

Hopefully, the show sticks to its scheduled premiere date of October. That much we can pine for, especially if the sneak peak that Amazon is hyping for members of Amazon Prime is as good as we expect it to be. There’s not much use for a sneak peak if the show doesn’t start soon thereafter.
