With the increasing expansion of electric vehicles, more and more car companies are rethinking their strategies. One of the latest cases is Jaguar. The esteemed car manufacturer from Great Britain will be making a complete transition to electric propulsion in the coming years. This means that some of our favorite models from Jaguar will undoubtedly face extinction, starting with the flagship sedan – XJ. What does this mean for the rest of the brand’s current lineup? How much of it will be left and what can we expect in the future?

The brand has already announced its new strategy, under the slogan “Reimagine Jaguar”, which is meant to transform Jaguar into an EV-only luxury brand, in just five years' time. This means that, after 2025, Jaguar will no longer offer vehicles, powered by internal combustion engines.

The model will go down in history as one of the most engaging executive sedans ever produced. That’s not all, however. A similar fate might be in store for the rest of Jaguar’s internal combustion engine-powered models since the brand will unveil an all-new exclusive EV architecture.

It seems all future electric Jaguars will be based on a universal platform, which would further increase production efficiency. Moreover, the platform will be exclusive to Jaguar’s lineup. In fact, Jaguar-Land Rover (JLR) will invest £2.5 billion, or the equivalent of $3.48 billion in electrification and development of connected services.

The brand’s plans to rearrange its lineup will not have a negative impact on the people working in the industry, since the old JLR factories will still be put to use. In addition, the automaker is adamant that it will retain its production plants in the UK, as well as around the world.
