The Seltos is one of the latest additions to Kia'a lineup: it was launched in mid-2019 and currently sits under the Sportage. While it may not be one of the best-selling models for Kia, it still enjoys a lot of attention from customers. For example, sales in 2021 went to 51,368 examples - up from the 2020's 46,280 copies. So, Kia is trying to keep the model fresh in order to boost the sales.

Our spy photographers caught the facelift Seltos out for a testing session in the snow of Scandinavia. The prototype is heavily camouflaged, but do not expect any major updates.

Changes should be limited to the front and rear, and will mostly be about updated headlights with LED DRLs and new taillights. Both, the front and the rear bumper should be updated too, and the grille will be replaced with a new one.

The interior will mostly remain unchanged, but you can expect new trims and new upholstery. The infotainment system will also be updated to the latest generation.

Under the hood, Kia will retain the same engines that are offered in the current model. The base trim will get a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder that makes 146 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, while the top version will get a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 175 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. There are rumors suggesting that the facelift Seltos will also get the hybrid powertrain from the Niro, but only time will confirm.

Expect to see the facelift Seltos before the end of 2022, with sales beginning in 2023.
