So, there is this Tesla Model 3 Performance that has been modified by Unplugged Performance, and it’s a downright beast. It’s modified roots are clear as day as it looks as aggressive as it, apparently, drives. Owned by YouTuber Dærik, it was recently taken to the Tsukuba Circuit in Japan where it posted an extremely impressive lap time of 1:04.7. The list of cars that it just beat around that very track is painful to read. Check out a video about the car and what it beat just a little further down the page.

Modified Tesla Model 3 Performance Tsukuba Circuit

First off, let me just warn you that the video above doesn’t win any awards for entertainment value. But, if you can sit through the tone-less and mundane narration (it is truly horrible) you can actually see a few clips of the Model 3 zipping around the circuit. From what we’ve learned, the highly modified Model 3 is equipped with the following upgrades:

-* Michelin Cup 2 305/30 ZR20 tires

-* Adjustable coilovers

-* six-piston calipers

-* Carbon ceramic brakes

-* Billet adjustable front control arms

-* 3-way adjustable sway bars (front and rear)

-* Adjustable rear toe arms

-* Sport brake lines

-* Competition-rated brake pads

Obviously, the list of modifications is extensive, and there could even be more that we don’t know about. More important than any of this, however, is just how fast this modified Tesla Model 3 really is. That 1:04.70 time around the track falls just shy of the McLaren F1, which ran the track in 1:04.62, but it matches the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII MR (ranked No. 41 overall) and beats a list of true heavy-hitters:

At the end of the day, this Model 3 Performance might be fast, but to be quite honest, it’s largely modified and it sounds like someone dumped some serious money into it to make it that fast. Something tells us, you could probably get your hands on at least a few of the heavy-hitters above for the same amount of money. That’s the path we’d take.
