Lotus has finally unveiled the new Emira sports car

It serves as a replacement for the Exige, Elise, and Evora

But it’s even more special because it’s also the last gas-powered vehicle that Lotus will ever make

It will be offered with two different engine choices, the first being the same AMG four-cylinder that powers the A45 and A45 S

The other engine is the familiar, supercharged, 3.5-liter V-6 derived from Toyota

No specific figures are given, but Lotus says power output will range from 360-400 horsepower with maximum torque of 317 pound-feet.

0-60 mph should come in less than 4.5 seconds with top speed sitting at a comfortable 180 mph

These specs, however, are well in line with the cars the Emira will compete against

Porsche 718

The Porsche 718 is available with a 2.0-liter flat-four, 2.5-liter flat-four, or a 4.0-liter flat-six

Power output ranges from 300-414 HP and 280-309 LB-FT of torque

0-60 mph comes in 4.3-4.9 seconds with top speed ranging between 170 and 187 mph

Alpine A110

The Alpine A110 is only available with a 1.5-liter inline-four

This engine makes 249-288 HP and 236 pound-feet of torque

0-60 mph comes in 4.4-4.5 seconds while top speed is limited to 155 mph

Outside of performance, the Emira’s interior is arguably its best feature

Somehow, Lotus has managed to make a high-tech cabin that’s both minimalistic and unique

Technology includes a 12.5-inch instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment display

Pricing and availability will vary by market, but the Emira will land in the U.K. and European markets first, before launching globally

In the U.K. it will start at £60,000, while Europeans will pay at least €72,000

At current exchange rates, that computes to a price range of $82,794-$85,117

The Emira will go on sale starting in summer of 2022
