The McLaren 720S Dresses Up In Fancy Clothes For The 2022 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix
The car is now finished in the famous Papaya orange paint
by Alina Moore, onThe inaugural Formula One Miami Grand Prix will take place from May 6 to May 8, 2022. To mark the event, McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing prepared a total of five 720S supercars that will be used throughout the weekend for a variety of activities, including the Pirelli Hot Laps, competition in the Celebrity Race, and display at the McLaren Hospitality Suite.
The five 720S supercars will feature a special wrap inspired by the livery designs of all three McLaren Racing teams – Formula 1, Extreme E, and INDYCAR. The wrap is a combination of Fluro Papaya orange - a paint that has been used starting with the 1967 Can-Am season - used for the car’s nose and flanks with shades of New Blue used for the rear fenders and decklid.
Unfortunately, the wrap is the only update these 720S received, as the rest of the car is stock. As a reminder, the 720S is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, and from 0 to 124 mph in 7.8 seconds. The top speed goes up to an impressive 212 mph. Of course, all these impressive performance figures come with a price, as the McLaren 720S is priced at $299,000.
