You’re probably familiar with Ferrari’s->ke252 XX program. It allows customers to purchase track-only prototypes to assist with the development of cutting edge technology at circuits around the world. It started with the Enzo->ke389-based 2005 Ferrari FXX and was followed by the 2009 Ferrari 599XX. Now there’s the LaFerrari->ke4626-based 2015 Ferrari FXX K, which is the fastest ever non-race car->ke148 Ferrari around the company’s Fiorano test track.

Christine Sloss recently received this yellow and black example as birthday gift from her husband. She didn’t waste much putting her new birthday present to good use, as shown in this hour-long video->ke278 of her driving the wheels off her new FXX K->ke5022 at Fiorano. According to the video uploader, she posted a fastest time of 1:20.6, which is about 6.5 seconds off the fastest ever posted by an FXX K. Pretty damn good for non-professional racing driver, not to mention a girl, and not a bad way to spend a birthday, either.

The FXX K’s gas-electric hybrid drivetrain consists of an atmospheric 6.3-liter V-12 producing 860 horsepower, plus Ferrari’s HY-KERS electric motor and battery pack, adding another another 190 horsepower for a total of 1,050 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. It does 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, tops out at 217 mph and has a sophisticated active-aerodynamics package that keeps it nailed to the track. Only 40 are being built, each costing around $3 million.
