Sam CarLegion has uploaded many drag races videos on his YouTube channel so far. He has a ton of different cars already, but the standout star has been the discontinued Fusion Sport. The Fusion Sport has raced the Honda Accord, as well as a Ford Mustang in the past, and has humiliated both the cars.

Now, we have the next chapter of the Mustang vs Fusion rivalry. To spice things up, we’ve got the tuned versions of both these cars. The Fusion Sport makes a lot more power than the Mustang, but it’s also over 450 pounds heavier, which balances things out to an extent. Yet, the Mustang loses. Now, that’s humiliating.

How Much Power Do These Ford Siblings Make?

The Ford Mustang is powered by a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It features a Stage 1 tune and aftermarket wheels. A 10-speed automatic gearbox powers the rear wheels here.

The Fusion Sport comes with a 2.7-liter, six-cylinder turbocharged engine under the hood. It comes with a custom tune, an intercooler upgrade, and a water meth injection. It is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.

The Mustang weighs 3,543 pounds, making it a little over 450 pounds lighter than the 4,000-pound Fusion Sport. Despite this, the latter boasts of a better power-to-weight ratio: .113 hp/lb versus the Mustang’s .099 hp/lb.

The Real Challenge Lies In The Roll Races… Or So It Seems

The first race from a dig began with cars in Sport mode and traction control on. The Mustang started off well and kept up with the Fusion for the first few seconds. But, at around the Fusion’s third gear change, the pony lost the plot as the Fusion started to get a good lead and eventually won the race.

The next run was a roll race from 50 kph (31 mph) and the cars in the Sport mode. The Mustang got its nose ahead at kickdown, but that was the best it could do. The Fusion then took it to the cleaners and won by a pretty good margin. They raced again, but this time, the traction control was turned off. The Mustang couldn’t do much this time either other than watch its taillights get smaller and smaller.
