For a while now, we have been hearing about the Ferrari 812 “Versione Speciale”. It is the internal name of the car and we finally know when it will be officially unveiled – on May 5. This piece of information comes from a Ferrari chat user Marcel Marcini – a renowned Ferrari restorer and historian. According to him, the press release will go out on the above-mentioned date, while the few lucky customers will be lucky to get a first glance of the car earlier, on April 21.

Earlier, Ferrari has teased the unveiling of the 812 “Versione Speciale” in a video, sent to prospective clients that leaked online. This might very well be the last front-engined normally-aspirated V-12 Ferrari we will get. At this point, we don’t know how many cars will be made, but current reports indicate there will be 899 coupes and 499 convertibles.

Although the prototypes are heavily camouflaged, we can tell there’s going to be a bigger diffuser and a more aggressive front fascia with a bigger air intake.

Moreover, in March, an image of the 812 VS was leaked, showing the lack of a rear window. Instead, we get a unique ala-fastback rear, with additional air vents that, it would seem to channel air towards the rear end of the car. This is expected to be the most hardcore version of the Ferrari 812 and is said to produce over 800 horsepower.
