Say hello to the BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay. It's a unique special edition take to the X2, which comes at a time when everyone is mostly doing black editions of their vehicles. While it won't satisfy gold diggers, it could satisfy those who want gold elements in their vehicles.

The 2023 BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay sets itself apart with its gold trimmings on the grille, mirrors, and wheels, which come in either 19 or 20 inches. There are also gold side graphics that further makes this vehicle stand out. However, you can only get the side graphics if you opt for the San Remo Green paint, which is new and exclusive to the Edition GoldPlay.

The M Sport package also comes as standard, which gives it a sportier look and a 0.4-inch lowered ride height due to the M Sport suspension. The steering wheel is also calibrated for improved response.

As for the interior, the X2 Edition GoldPlay likewise comes with numerous gold trimmings in the seat stitching, doors, center console, and dashboard. There's also a unique gold pattern that mimics the exterior graphics on the Dark Graphite matte trim.

For now, the BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay is being offered only in Europe, and it is available as an option for the entire X2 range, including the xDrive25e plug-in hybrid and performance-oriented X2 M35i, which uses the same powertrain as the M135i.

The BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay is also coming to the United States, but with a few minor differences. What's missing in the American press release are the gold trimmings on the grille and mirrors, along with the X2's gold side graphics. However, you'll be able to get the X2 Edition GoldPlay in Sapphire, Skyscraper Grey, Alpine White, or BMW Individual Storm Bay. The interior design is unchanged from the European model, but the touch screen for the iDrive 6 is just 8.8-inches instead of 10.25-inches.

The US-market X2 Edition GoldPlay will come in either front-wheel drive (FWD) sDrive28i or all-wheel drive (AWD) xDrive28i, which means both are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that produces 228 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque.

Production for the BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay will commence this March. More details such as pricing and availability will be announced soon.
