Cadillac has dropped a teaser announcing something new, and we think it’s the Escalade-Vby Sidd Dhimaan, on LISTEN 02:23
Cadillac uploaded a teaser clip on its social media channel that could point at the debut of the high-performance version of the Escalade SUV, the Escalade-V. The clip also has the roars and grunts of a V-8 and there’s a ‘V’ badge showcased at the end. Has to be a performance model, right?
Who Doesn’t Like Big Performance Vehicles?
The clip starts with the front-end silhouette of four vehicles with their lights on. Then, the lights of a fifth vehicle come on. It is standing right in the middle, has the brightest lights, and is taller than the rest. It clearly is the Escalade. You can also see tread marks and burnt rubber in front of the cars, which point at a performance vehicle. If these clues weren’t enough, you can also hear a V-8 road and grunt, and a ‘V’ badge closing out the clip. Can’t be anything but an Escalade-V, can it?
What Could Power The Escalade-V?
Currently, the Escalade comes with a 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque. You also have a 3.0-liter, six-pot mill available that churns out 277 ponies and 460 pound-feet of torque. The Cadillac Escalade-V, however, could have the same supercharged engine as the CT5-V Blackwing.
The engine in the hot sedan makes 668 horses and 659 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. but a 10-speed automatic is available as optional. The car sprints to 60 mph from naught in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of over 200 mph. The Escalade-V won’t have such impressive performance specs for obvious reasons, but the power outputs could be pretty much the same. Even the manual gearbox could be ditched and the 10-speed automatic gearbox could be the only transmission option.
Well, whatever it is, we don’t have to wait long, because it is coming out today – January 21, 2022. Make sure to come back because we will have the complete scoop on this new Cadillac vehicle.
