With only 40 units set to be built, and a price tag of about $5 million, chances of seeing a Bugatti Bolide in real life are pretty thin. But those who just happened to be at the Concours d’Elegance at Villa D’Este in Lake Como, Italy got the chance to enjoy an amazing show. The finest machines on the planet were part of the event, and with the Bolide being one of the finest of them all, it had to be present! Needless to say it was a sight to behold.

What’s even more interesting is that, for now, there is only one Bolide in existence. so being in the presence of this one was a real treat. When Bugatti built it, the plans were to leave it as a one-off model. The overwhelming reaction to the one-off convinced Bugatti to review that decision, and starting 2024, 40 lucky, and very rich customers will get behind the wheel of this amazing hypercar. By then, all the remaining Chirons deliveries should also be complete

So, why do people want this supercar? Its look might have something to do with it, but then, there is also the amazing 8.0-liter W-16 engine that delivers a total of 1,824 horsepower and 1,364 pound-feet of torque - making it the most powerful Bugatti to date. With a total weight of 1,240 kilos (2,734 pounds), the Bolide can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.17 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in 4.36 seconds, and from 0 to 186 mph in 7.37 seconds. If you were expecting things to stop here, you are wrong: Bugatti also announced a 0 to 400 km/h (249 mph) sprint time of 12.08 seconds and 0 to 500 km/h (311 mph) in 20.16 seconds. However, in the production version, top speed will most likely be limited to under 250 mph for safety reasons. Also, Bugatti claims that the Bolide laps the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 5:23.1 seconds - which is about 4.4 seconds slower than the Porsche 919 Hybrid EVO race car. So, see - these numbers could be the reason why customers asked for a limited production version.
