There was a time when online configurators for new cars took a few days (or even weeks) to become available. That's a thing of past now, especially when talking about sports cars. Performance vehicles from Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini don't spend too much time in showrooms, and it's exactly why customers are given the opportunity to customize their ride as soon as the first official details are out. It's been just a few hours since the updated Porsche 911 GT3 RS was launched and you can already configure your dream model. Ready to have some fun?

Crazy Options for the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Porsche offers a few interesting options for the GT3 RS. While it's a bit annoying that you can't have the green seatbelts with the black/green upholstery, you can have several features painted in a wide range of colors. For instance, you can have the climate control panel and air vents finished in one of 16 colors. Choices include bright hues like Guards Red, Lava Orange, Sapphire Blue, and Racing Yellow. You can also get Mahogany Metallic for a veneer-like look. Unfortunately, no Lizard Green on this list. But hey, you can have the steering wheel's 12 o'clock mark painted in this color.

Porsche also offers an extended individualization option with "deviated stitching." That's just a different pattern for the thread on the seats and door panels, but the cool thing is that you can have it in one of 11 colors. Choices include cream, cognac, Bordeau Red, and Luxor Beige. Fancy! Finally, you can put a Bose surround sound system inside the cabin. Just in case you want to listen to the latest hits while in Nurburgring. I'm kidding; of course, I think that this option is pointless. But hey, maybe some customers like to play music while polishing their prized Porsches in the driveway.

2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Performane Upgrades

Should you choose to remove the A/C and add a fire extinguisher, make sure you also check out the upgrades that make the GT3 RS a better track car. You can get the Chrono Package with Lap Trigger, the Extended Range Fuel Tack for 23.8 gallons for gasoline, and the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake package. The latter doesn't come cheap though at a whopping $9,210. The Weissah Package, priced at $18,000, adds a ton of exposed carbon-fiber and lightweight anti-roll bars that save almost 12 pounds.

The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Color Options

As it's always the case, you need to pick an exterior color first. There are nine options available, four free base colors and five hues you have to pay for. Standard colors include black, white, Guards Red and Racing Yellow, so you get an either flashy or more sober exterior without paying extra. But if you want the GT Silver Metallic or the light-gray Chalk options, you need to add an extra $4,220. The same goes for the more exciting Lava Orange, Miami Blue, and Lizard Green hues. I don't know about you but that Lizard Green is gorgeous.

Next up, you have to pick the wheels. Actually, there's only one design available with five twin spokes, but you can choose between four finishes. There's satin aluminum, a darker satin by Porsche Exclusive, satin black, or satin black with lip in Lizard Green. Oh, and the standard color is gold, which is sweet because it goes with just about any exterior paint.

Other exterior options include deletion of badges and model designation, LED headlamps in black, black door handles, and mirror caps and window triangle trim in carbon-fiber.

2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Interior Trim Options

Only three options are available here, but the really annoying thing is that two are in black only. Fortunately, you have the option to combine the black leather upholstery with Lizard Green inserts on the seats and door panels for $3,480. Speaking of the seats, you can pick between the standard adaptive sport seats or the full bucket seats. Go with the latter if you like long weekends at the race track. While the upholstery isn't exactly exciting, you do get plenty of other options to choose from. Highlights include seat heating, floor mats, various features painted in custom colors, red or white dials and Sport Chrono clock. You also have access to a wide range of aluminum or carbon-fiber features.

How Expensive Can the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Get?

The GT3 RS starts from $187,500, but go crazy with the options, and the sticker can jump beyond the $200,000 mark in a matter of seconds. I can't afford one, but I went crazy with the options just to see how expensive it gets. Of course, I selected the Lizard Green exterior with matching wheels, the green interior with as many green details as possible, loads of carbon-fiber, and the fanciest upgrades available. Yes, I added the silly Bose sound system too, plus the Delivery Experience at one of the company's centers. In total, I added $55,000 worth of options, taking the final sticker, including handling, to a whopping $243,600. Still more affordable than a Ferrari though.

Here's how my mean green 911 GT3 RS looks like on the outside. Make sure you post yours in the comments section.
