Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ staged yet another drag and roll race, but this time, with two of the most intimidating cars to grace the drag strip – the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody. Both these cars are intimidating in their own ways, but this is one of those rare times where they’ve crossed paths and have come face-to-face. While it may have been an exciting exercise, to begin with, the race was nothing more than a glorified squash. The Dodge had its moments, but it had no chance of winning any race. But sometimes such squashes are exciting, right?

What Do We Have Here With Us?

A lightning-quick seven-speed PDK drives the wheels here. As for the weight, the GT3 RS tips the scales at 3,152 pounds.

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody, on the other hand, is all about raw, brute power more than elegance and grace. All the oomph is laid down to the tarmac via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It weighs 4,494 pounds, making it nearly 1,350 pounds heavier than the German.

The Porsche Obliterated The Dodge Six Ways To Sunday

The cars were locked into their respective sportiest settings in the first race. The 911 struggled to get traction at launch, but when it did, it flew past the muscle car. It made it look like the Charger hit a wall and was left standing still. This is utter humiliation! In the second run, the Dodge was quicker off the line, but only till the Porsche was able to lay down all the oomph to the tarmac properly.

Then came the roll race from 50 kph (31 mph). This is the first time the Dodge showed some fight. At kickdown, it managed to get a small lead over the Porsche. The latter tried to get past it, but it wasn’t a cakewalk like the drag races. After going neck-and-neck for the longest time, the Porsche somehow managed to edge the Dodge to win by the barest of margins. From the Dodge’s camera angle, it could clearly be seen that both these cars weren’t level and the Porsche was a tad bit ahead. Could the result have been different if they were exactly beside each other? We’ll never know…

The second roll race was better in terms of their placements as both the cars were almost level at kickdown. The Porsche got the lead right off the bat and kept at it till the very end to score a clean sweep over the Dodge.
