Goodwood is one of the very few places where highly-exclusive, classic vehicles can be seen, driven on their limits. When it comes to special cars, few can match the presence of a 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO. The Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the rarest and most expensive, high-performance vehicles, which is why seeing one being raced is a rare occurance.

The video comes from the official, Goodwood Road & Racing YouTube channel, and shows us on-board footage from the cockpit of the Italian exotic. This particular, 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO is owned by Roelofs Engineering, and is being driven by Marino Franchitti, at the 79th Goodwood Members' Meeting.

Seeing the driver finessing the car with precise steering wheel input and throttle modulation is a sight, we’ve been largely deprived of in modern-day motorsports. Complementing the visual experience is the raw sound of the Tipo 168, 3.0-liter V-12. The naturally-aspirated unit features six Weber carburetors and is good for 296 horsepower and 217 pound-feet (294 Nm).

Power goes to the rear through a five-speed manual with a gated shifter. Naturally, there's nothing in the way of safety systems and sound insolation, to rob from the visceral driving experience.

Until not long ago, the Ferrari 250 GTO held the record for the most expensive car in the world, valued at $70.0 million. Only 36 examples of the Ferrari 250 GTO have been made and no two are the same, since each car was hand-crafted. Words don’t make it justice, so feel free to watch the video below.
