The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the best car shows if you want to see all sorts of vehicles climb up the Goodwood Hill. It's usually sports cars, supercars, and race cars new and old, but some automakers bring SUVs and trucks as well. At this years edition, Rolls Royce decided to take the massive Cullinan for a stroll on the short but iconic road course.

At 5.3 meters long and tipping the scales at almost 5,900 pounds, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is one big and heavy SUV. So, you're naturally inclined to believe that it's far from dynamic, even with all the efforts that automakers put into making their SUVs sportier. Well, the Cullinan handles the Goodwood hill's bends rather well. There's plenty of screeching into the corners and, sometimes, the SUV leans heavily to one side or another, but it completed the run in just one minute. That's only 16 seconds slower than the record set by the Volkswagen I.D. R, a 671-horsepower race car that weighs only 2,425 pounds. Not bad, huh?

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has some impressive performance credentials

The Cullinan may be big and heavy, but it's powered by an impressively big engine. The V-12 under the hood displaces no fewer than 6.75 liters and cranks out a solid 563 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. All this oomph travels to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is notable that the Cullinan is the first Rolls-Royce to ever feature an all-wheel-drive system. It's also the first to have four-wheel steering, which explains its impressive display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the most expensive SUV in the world

The Cullinan maybe be remarkably fast and nimble for its size, but it's also remarkably expensive. Actually, the Cullinan is the most expensive production SUV in the world with a sticker set at $325,000. That's a whopping $125,000 more than its direct competitor, the Bentley Bentayga. Heck, the Cullinan costs more than track-prepped sports cars from Ferrari and McLaren.
