Oh the beautiful sounds of a car’s engine as it hums its way around a track. Nothing can beat that sound, not even the tires screeching as they make their way around the bend. Unfortunately, when The Stig took the Bugatti Veyron SS out for a spin on the Top Gear track, the sounds coming from the engine were barely audible as the beautifully fast supercar was given the opportunity to show just how miraculous its capabilities are.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport comes with a 16-cylinder engine that has four enlarged turbochargers and bigger intercoolers to offer up a total of 1200hp. The chassis was completely redesigned to handle such speeds by the use of a raised main-spring travel, stronger stabilizers, and new shock absorbers with a complex architecture originally developed for racing cars. With lateral acceleration of up to 1.4 G and improved interaction between the tires and the intelligent all-wheel drive system, the Super Sport offers perfect handling and even more powerful acceleration of 1,500 NM on corner exits.

The Bugatti has already achieved top Guiness Book honors by hitting an average top speed of 267.81 miles per hour, but how did it fare on the Top Gear track? Will it take the throne as the fastest or will it just fall short? Only one way to find out...

The Senna piece was an eye-opener. At 37, I wasn’t really into F1 when he was racing -
of course I knew the name, but now, with an appreciation for the rawness of the F1 cars of his
era, his skills were extraordinary!

The way the weaves meet in the middle, wow...absolutely worth the money when considering the attention to details here...beauty.

Well, don’t forget the cost of gas, which considering the incredible thirst of this engine at top speed would drain the remaining cash reserve as quickly as the car drives.

I believe it costs $2.5 million US not $250 million based on the price stated by May in the show.

As this track is a power track this means nothing. Add 200hp and the time drops 2 seconds. Okay. But they obviously didn’t improve handling. Test it on a real circuit like the Ring and watch it get eaten by the same cars it beat here.

That would be a great idea to have a race between the LFA Nurburgring Edition, the GT2 RS, the CCXR, the Apollo Sport and the 599 GTO.

Well what do you know, the Veyron finally handles well. Someone should do a Nurburgring showdown between this car, the LFA Nurburgring Edition, the GT2 RS, the CCXR, the Apollo Sport and the 599 GTO.
