Yes, you heard that right, a diesel engine in what is essentially a salvaged Tesla Model 3 will soon house an oil burner powered by the fuel of Satan. YouTuber Rich Rebuilds is known for his Tesla-centric content on the web, and this one is his next project.

Now as far as Tesla engine swaps go, the man and his team recently had a Model S with an LS engine under the hood show up at SEMA 2021. Dubbed the ICE.T, the idea of an engine in something as green and sustainable as a Tesla sedan might sound preposterous. Nonetheless, the car drew a lot of attention at the show, including the likes of CarandDriver Magazine and GM who went to the extent of offering an engine from a Z06.

Coming back to why Diesel? Rich explains. He says that while most people hate it and dismiss it as a polluting fuel, it's probably how most of the stuff that you’re using right now got to you. Heck, he even points out that your EV too was probably delivered on a Diesel Semi. How many EV’s do you think are involved in the construction of those GIGA factories? So, the man’s got a point.

Now ICE.T was a big hit and while the Tesla Model S was a larger car and had more room to accommodate the LS, it’ll be interesting to see how the guys manage to squeeze a larger Cummins diesel into their smaller eBay sourced Model 3.
