Ferrari, like other high-end carmakers, loves giving us special editions. While one could argue that no Ferrari is regular, the Prancing horse recently decided to celebrate 10 years of the Cavalcade road trip, by planning to introduce not one, but five special editions based on existing models. Each of the special-edition models has been finished in a distinctive exterior color and features unique traits both inside and out. The third and latest Cavalcade commemoration is, once again, based on the Ferrari 812 Competizione and, once again features a unique color, inspired by an iconic Italian landmark.

A few things scream Italy more than a limited-edition Ferrari with an exterior color, inspired by some of Italy’s most beautiful regions, through which the Cavalcade road trip takes you. The first Cavalcade special edition is also based on the 812 Competition, but featured a Blu Capri exterior finish, inspired by the color of the Iridescent ocean.

The second model that celebrates 10 years of the Cavalcade road trip is based on the mid-engine Ferrari SF90, which also happens to be the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model. Its deep shade of dark red and contrasting accents carries inside the interior and is inspired by the charred cliffs of Mount Etna.

The third and latest version that celebrates the iconic road trip is, once again, based on the Ferrari 812 Competition. While the first 812 Competizione-based version was inspired by the colors of the ocean, this one is inspired by Tuscany’s countryside, which is also a part of the Cavalcade.

In order to do that, Ferrari created a unique shade called Verde Volterra. The iridescent paint changes colors depending on the light, thus perfectly alternating between the countryside’s green and golden colors. While some would argue this is a far cry from Ferrari’s more traditional colors, the special color gives the 812 Competition a truly unique look. The special color will be made available to five different Ferrari models.

Two more Cavalcade models await introduction and we can’t wait to see what Ferrari has come up with next. Changes to all of the above-mentioned special models are solely aesthetic, as the cars retain stock performance, which is already mind-blowing, with 986 horsepower and 590 pound-feet (800 Nm) from the SF90’s V-8 hybrid powertrain, and 819 horsepower and 510 pound-feet (692 Nm) from the 812 Competizione’s 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V-12.
