Currently, Toyota is working on a piece of technology, called a fail safe system, that can tell if you have been excessively drinking which in turn will keep you from operating your car under unsafe conditions. So how exactly does this “fail safe system work”? If you jump into your fail-safe equipped Toyota and you have been drinking too much, the steering wheel can detect it through the sweat from your hands. Additionally if somehow you manage to get the vehicle going, the Toyota can also stop you through a camera that analyzes the size of your pupils. There is no word yet on what type of vehicles Toyota will be implementing this technology to or whether this technology will be used on all their vehicles. Toyota expects to fit these cars with the fail-safe system by 2009. What do you think about this piece of technology? Is it going to far? source:internal
