The Trifecta is a Triple-Blown 1965 Mustang That Will Piss Off Ford And Chevy Fanboys

It is sacrilege to find out about a Mustang powered by an LS engine, but your jaw will hit the floor when you figure out the number of Superchargers on this thing

LISTEN 03:33

If you keep tabs on the muscle car scene, you are well aware of the fact about how Bradley Gray and his Blown Mafia crew can really shake things up with some of their truly insane builds.

Today, we’ll take a look at one of their best creations in an old video put out by YouTuber; ScottieDTV. It’s a 1965 Mustang dubbed "Trifecta" that is powered by a massive 427ci LSx V8 with Arias LSx HEMI heads and not one or two, but three Superchargers, that quite literally burst out of the hood.

Back in 2018, they showed off the Trifecta, with not one or even two, but three superchargers.

Mr. Gray is a custom automobile collector who owns a portfolio of powerful rides that he has cleverly called "The Blown Mafia” that regularly tours the country. Bradley Gray and the experienced Blown Mafia are no strangers to creating some truly insane cars and they definitely enjoy building some really interesting and cool machines.

Over the years, the guys have hit it out of the park dominating several events with their trio of gigantic muscle cars. It appears as though, words like mild, moderation, or measure, simply don’t exist in Mr. Gray’s dictionary. Instead, the cars that he and his crew create are more in tune with adjectives like "extreme, excess, and extravagance".

Here’s What The "Trifecta" Is All About

Now putting a Chevy engine in a Ford is just wrong. However, Gray says that this engine surprisingly fits this engine bay rather well.

Let’s get to the elephant in the room then, shall we? The engine. This is where Ford aficionados will indeed be upset. This ’65 Mustang is powered by a massive 427 LSx V-8 with Arias LSx HEMI heads which tower over the hood. On top of the Arias, the intake manifold is a Weiand 8-71 Supercharger.

While Bradley did want the Trifecta Mustang to be powered by a Ford engine, apparently the 427 LSX works better than anything else, especially with three blowers up top coupled with a PowerGlide transmission with a 4500 converter. The Trifecta rides on Weld Racing wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson drag racing rubber.

Hallmarks Of A True Blown Mafia Build

A hallmark of a Blown Mafia build is red paint along with a hand-crafted tan leather interior seen here.

The color combination; Bright Red body along with the Tan interior is a classic Blown Mafia hallmark that can be found on all of their builds. The red paint you see here was done by Pops Classics Restoration. Every feature of this one-of-a-kind machine is flawless and begs to be admired.

That tan leather interior is completely handcrafted with one of the highlights being, the cutouts that provide a glimpse into the inner workings of this massive Mustang. This was deliberate and Bradly has left several see-throughs to show the haters that everything actually works.

And to prove just that, there are cut-outs throughout the cabin where you can actually see all of those performance parts in action.

You can find one in the center console, a second one in the wheel tubs, and a third in the trunk. Dakota Digital gauges and Ididit steering components complete the instrument panel. You have a couple of twin 10-pound nitrous bottles behind the seats.

To Sum It Up

Most of the performance upgrades seen here aren’t just for show and they actually work.

The Trifecta 1965 Mustang isn’t designed for outright speed, but that doesn’t mean the massive engine isn’t capable. This car certainly pushes the envelope of engineering that deserves some screen time. The Blown Mafia 1965 Mustang is truly a rolling masterpiece.

Watch Scottie take us on a tour of the Trifecta whilst interviewing none other than Bradley Gray himself.
