We last saw that Volkswagen Aero B back in November of 2021, looking like what could be a replacement for the Passat sedan, despite evidence to the contrary. These latest spy shots don’t reveal anything new, but it does seem to verify our previous suspicion that it is, in fact, a five-door liftback. This time around, the car was caught testing in Sweden, taking advantage of the cold weather there. It still features the same deceptive camouflage, but we know it’ll take inspiration from the 2019 ID Space Vizzion concept.

As of now, it’s believed that Volkswagen will offer the Aero B in two different body styles. The liftback sedan being one of them, and the other, potentially being a low-riding crossover of sorts. It will be the electric equivalent of the gas-powered Passat and will ride on VW’s MEB platform, which means it will be available with rear- or all-wheel drive. A GTX version of the Aero B will launch within a year or two after the base model, but basic performance and range is still a well-kept secret.
