If you’re still in a quagmire over what to get your car-loving friends and family for Christmas, Bentley has a few options on the table, all of which are of the 1:43 scale toy variety. The British automaker is launching a new line of 1:43 scale toy models featuring some of the most desirable Bentleys you can find in the market. The new collection includes the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible, the Bentley Mulsanne Speed that Bentley showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, and the Bentley Mulsanne W.O. Edition that’s limited to just 100 units. The 1:43 scale 2016 Bentley Mulsanne Speed and the 1:43 scale Continental GT Convertible cost £125 each while the 100-piece Mulsanne W.O. Edition costs £150. All three 1:43 scale models are available at Bentley’s online store: shop.bentleymotors.com.

The New Bentley Continental GT

The new Bentley Continental GT is arguably one of the suavest luxury cars in the market today. It’s effortlessly elegant and refined in ways that you’ve come to expect from a vehicle that’s wearing a Bentley badge. Unfortunately for most of us, the new Continental GT also costs more than $200,000, making it financially unreachable for a lot of people, myself included. Well, that shouldn’t stop you from dreaming of owning one, and if you’re the type who can settle for something close to the new Continental GT, a 1:43 scale version just might be what the doctor ordered.

The replica Continental GT is faithful to its real-life counterpart. The details are incredibly tight, right down to the unmistakable front fascia and the streamlined curves and sculptural lines that have come to define the Continental GT nameplate since its introduction in 2003.

To make it more desirable, Bentley chose a beautiful polished blue shade on the 1:43 scale model — Sequin Blue — and complemented it with an interior that’s dressed in Linen and Beluga. It might not be a true-to-the-world scaled version of the new Continental GT, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a miniaturized version that’s as impeccably detailed and well-crafted as this one.

It makes you feel that you own a car that packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough power to help the new Continental GT accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 189 mph.

But the best part of this 1:43 scale version of the new Continental GT is that it’ll only cost you £125 to own one. That converts to around $163, not including shipping.

2016 Bentley Mulsanne Speed

If you want something with more of a golden touch, you can opt for the 1:43 scale of the 2006 Bentley Mulsanne Speed. Mind you, Bentley didn’t just create a scaled version of any Mulsanne Speed — as if there are a lot of them, to begin with. Bentley chose the same version of the Mulsanne Speed that the automaker unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, including the exact specifications of the said show car.

We dug up photos of the 2016 Mulsanne Speed that Bentley showcased in Geneva more than three years ago and, well, Bentley wasn’t lying. The same Julep exterior body paint that the automaker used on the real concept is the same color the 1:43 scale model is wearing. It’s not just the exterior paint color, too. The Beluga interior is also similar to the one the Geneva show car is wearing, and if you look close enough, you’ll also notice that the scale model’s wheels carry the same design as the Geneva show car. That’s the kind of attention-to-detail that Bentley is known for.

It would be a treat to see the 1:43 scaled version of the 2016 Bentley Mulsanne Speed in action. The luxury sedan’s 6.75-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine produces 530 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to help the real Mulsanne Speed accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 190 mph. It’s too bad that if we want to feel what it’s like to hit those speeds on a Bentley, we’d have to pay close to $300,000 to experience it.

Bentley Mulsanne W.O. Edition

Back at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Bentley presented the Mulsanne W.O. Edition as a tribute to the company founder Walter Owen Bentley’s 100th birthday. Bentley’s in-house personalization division, Mulliner, took the task of creating the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, and among the notable features that Mulliner threw into each model of the Mulsanne W.O. Edition is a piece of the crankshaft from W.O. Bentley’s personal car.

Unfortunately, that specific detail is not available in the 1:43 scale model of the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, though if you think about it, every other notable detail is present in the toy version. The Onyx Black exterior paint finish is the same paint that Mulliner used to dress up the special edition Mulsanne. Likewise, the Fireglow upholstery in the cabin of the 1:43 Mulsanne W.O. Edition matches the specifications of the real-life Mulsanne W.O. Edition. The chrome details on the radiator grille and hood strip are also taken straight from Mulliner’s Mulsanne W.O. files. Oh, and those wheels? Black-on-black never looked so good in the real or toy world.

The Bentley Mulsanne W.O. Edition is powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces 505 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque. It’s capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds.

Now for the bad news. All 100 units of the real Bentley Mulsanne WO Edition are spoken for. There’s no way for any of us to buy one unless we hit up the secondary market, and even then, the price tag for one could fetch way more than the Mulsanne’s $500,000 price.

The silver lining, of course, is that you don’t have to spend that much money to buy a Mulsanne WO Edition. You can scoop one of the 100 units of the 1:43 scale Mulsanne WO Edition for a fraction — a fraction! — of the price. The cost of buying the 1:43 scale Mulsanne WO Edition adds up to only £150. That’s $195 based on current exchange rates.
