Despite the ongoing chip crisis, there are some fantastic choices of new cars (if you can get your hands on one, that is) out there, and James from Donut Media gives us a run down the rides that offer the most ‘HRSPRS’ i.e horsepower for your dollar.

His end goal? To find out which new car offers the most value, when it comes to the number of ponies on tap.

Owing to that very chip crisis and demand through the roof, it is unlikely that you’re going to pay MSRP as some of the dealer margins are outright ridiculous. Donut Media also put out a video about this a while ago, which you can check out below.

Anyway, coming back to today’s list of cars, you’ve got everything from sports cars, family sedans, a minivan; Heck, there’s even an EV in there, and it's a truck. Can you guess which one? Overall, there are 15 cars on the list (more if you take all the variants into consideration).

To give some context here are the baseline figures for the cheapest car on sale today, the Chevy Spark, and one of the most expensive ones, a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. The Spark carries an MSRP of $13,600 and puts out a feisty 98 horses, taking our $/hp ratio to $139.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, you’ve got the Lambo that costs $517,000, with its 6.5 liter V-12 pumping out a mammoth 760 Italian stallions giving us a mega figure of $681.
