A dealership in Detroit, Michigan is facing the aftermath of an attack by two unidentified men, both of whom smashed almost 300 windows from 55 cars, resulting in damages amounting to $80,000. To make things worse, that amount only covers repairs to the windows. According to dealership owner, Ogeen Kada, a number of cars also suffered “physical body damage” from the act of vandalism and there was destruction of private property.

This is not the kind of news you’d want to wake up too, and that’s if you have no ties to the dealership that’s just been wrecked. It's hard to imagine what it must be like for owner Ogeen Kada, who revealed to Fox 2 Detroit the extent of the damage left behind by the vandals. According to Kada, the busted windows cost around $80,000 to repair. “That's just in repairs," he said. “That's not talking about other damages. We have cars that have physical body damage to them, but we haven't had time to assess them."

“I went into shock a little bit because you just don't know where to start,” Kada added.

To make things worse, the act of vandalism on the Car Wize Auto Sales dealership isn’t the first time one of Kada’s businesses was attacked. Two weeks ago, another one of his dealerships was set on fire after three people showed up and vandalized the place. The two attacks appear to paint a modus operandi against Kada and his businesses. The criminals have not yet been identified, but according to the dealership owner, the same people are responsible for both attacks on two of his dealerships. A $5,000 reward is now on the table for any information that could lead to the arrest of the vandals.

In the meantime, Kada will have to come to grips with getting the damaged cars fixed as soon as possible. Tax season is in full bloom in the U.S. There’s going to be a lot of people with refunds on their hands, a lot of whom could be looking at making a new car purchase.

Hopefully, the perps are apprehended as soon as possible, so they don’t have the opportunity to vandalize another dealership.
