Power is great, but just how much power is enough? Apparently, there is no such thing, as one of YouTube’s go-to racing channels – “That Racing Channel” (TRC) – gives us a ride-along in one very fast Dodge Viper. This isn’t just any Viper, as you will find out below. As usual, we get the story behind the car, how the owner got it, and what’s been done to it. Spoiler alert: there are some pretty crazy facts about this particular snake.

Dodge Vipers are already shockingly fast out of the box. The fifth and last generation, like the one here, came with an 8.4-liter normally-aspirated V-10. In stock form, it puts down 645 horsepower (481 kW) and 600 pound-feet (813 Nm). This is enough for a 0-60 mph time in around 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 206 mph (330 km/h). This, apparently, isn’t enough for Ryan – the owner of the Viper – who let tuner house Calvo have their way with the venomous snake.

Before the Viper, Ryan had a C7 Corvette Z06 – a very fast car in its own right. However, after he got spanked by a Calvo car at a half-mile event, he decided it’s time for a change. The Viper was that change. A stock one wasn’t going to cut it, however, so Calvo stepped in. A lot of modifications were made, but the key ones are a 9-liter stroker kit, sequential gearbox, and twin-turbos. With so much displacement and already strong internals, it’s normal for a Viper to make crazy figures. But how crazy you ask?

This being the TRC channel, Charles got to ride in the car. Anyone who follows the channel knows that Charles has been in some quick stuff, but seeing how he screams like a little girl is a testament to the sheer savagery of the Calvo Viper. Given the numbers it makes, it’s no wonder the car is currently undefeated on the streets.
