The fastest single-turbo Audi S8 packs Veyron power and cocoons you in luxury
by Dim Angelov, onIn the world of modified cars, basically, anything goes, and among the usual suspects like single-turbo Supra builds or 1,500-horsepower GT-Rs, there are those that are more unlikely and unexpected. The YouTube channel Officially Gassed has a proven record of showing us some of the most bonkers builds from the UK (and maybe the world) and this one is no exception. What you are looking at is, probably, the only Audi S8 with a big single turbo swap and it makes Bugatti Veyron power.
Executive sedans are usually overlooked when it comes to high-horsepower builds. This is due to their obvious focus on luxury and comfort rather than corner-carving capabilities, not to mention the weight, which in this case is around 4,400 pounds (2,000 kg). With that said, even a German land yacht like the Audi S8 is capable of giving high-performance cars a run for their money. Since the S8 relies on the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 as the RS6 and RS7, the tuning potential is there, and the owner of this one decided to go balls out with it.
The car was built by HASS Performance and features most of the tuner’s parts catalog. The most important change, however, is the big single turbo, which replaces the stock twin-turbo setup. The Garrett G42-1200 helps the engine produce a whopping 1,000 horsepower (735 kilowatts) and 811 pound-feet (1,100 Nm). Power hits the ground through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. The best part of it is that you are still cocooned in luxury while packing Bugatti Veyron power.
In stock form, this generation of the Audi S8 produces from 520 to 605 horsepower, depending on whether you have the standard or Plus version. The S8 Plus is also capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.6 seconds to a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h). The owner’s goal was to keep a sleeper look. With the D4 generation of the Audi S8, this is certainly an easy job as it features one of the cleanest exterior designs of all models. It’s also vast so you’d never expect it to be as fast as it is. It is safe to say, this is the best of both worlds and the video below makes that apparent, especially in the second half where you will see it in action.
