Fluffy’s got a collection that you wouldn’t believe

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is known far and wide as a great comedian, but he’s also established himself as a connoisseur of all things related to Volkswagen’s iconic Bus. The 44-year-old comedian owns a collection of classic VW Bus models amounting to $3 million. He keeps them in his personal museum, which was designed to carry a passing resemblance to Volkswagen’s production facility in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Iglesias owns over 80 Volkswagen Bus models, and all of them can be found inside his museum that he’s dubbed the “Fluffy Museum.”

Each Bus model is unique in its own right, including one — a 1968 Volkswagen Transporter — that served as his first car when he was 17 years old. That fateful purchase led to more purchases until it became big enough that he needed a place to store all his precious Bus models.

The Fluffy Museum is home to some of the rarest VW Bus models ever built. There’s a 15-window 1963 Bus and a 1952 Barndoor Bus in Iglesias’ collection. The comedian doesn’t just tuck them away either; he works closely with a team of experts to restore his finds and keep them in running order. He even drives most of his Bus models even though those trips aren’t often long.

In addition to all the Volkswagen Bus models, the Fluffy Museum also houses three rare Volkswagen Beetle models from 1950, 1956, and 1958.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio
