Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ uploaded yet another interesting drag race video on his YouTube channel, this time, the Ford Mustang taking on the Infiniti Q60S
The Infiniti Q60S comes with a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V-6 engine that generates 300 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed automatic gearbox powers all four wheels
The Ford Mustang HPP is powered by a 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder mill that makes 330 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels exclusively via a 10-speed automatic transmission
The Mustang tips the scales at 3,932 pounds, whereas the Q60S weighs 3,915 pounds despite the V-6 and an all-wheel-drive system
But, since the Mustang makes 30 more horses, it boasts of a much better power-to-weight ratio of 0.084 horsepower/pound versus the Q60S’ 0.077 horsepower/pound
Drag Race 1 of 2:
The cars had their Sport settings engaged and the traction control on. Although they started neck and neck, the Q60S managed to edge it and get a win
Drag Race 2 of 2:
For this race, the Mustang was put in the Drag Mode whereas the Infiniti had its traction control turned off. But, the Mustang did worse than before and lost by an even bigger margin
Roll Race 1 of 2:
They started from 31 mph with the cars in Sport mode, traction control off, and automatic mode for the gearbox. The Mustang flew past its rival and scored a convincing win
Roll Race 2 of 2:
This time, they were in manual mode for the transmission. The Infiniti was ahead at kickdown, and that might have played a big role in it winning the race. Had they been neck and neck, this would’ve been a much closer fight
