An Aston Martin DB11 that would make James Bond proud is currently for sale at JamesEdition. The unique DB11 doesn’t have revolving license plates or machine guns hidden in its fenders. Instead, it has level four armor protection courtesy of Trasco Bremen. No other details were given about the car other than that its a 2018 model. It’s for sale, though, at a price that’s available upon request.

Armored cars aren’t exactly rare sights in today’s world. We see them all the time. Just about every car in the world can get the armored treatment, too, provided that the owner is willing to pay for the costs that come with it. All that said, how often do you see an Aston Martin DB11 get the armor treatment? It’s not that common, in large part because the extra weight of the armor compromises the grand tourer’s performance abilities.

But just as in life, the auto industry has its share of oddities. An armored Aston Martin DB11 counts as one of them. This particular model is a fortress wrapped in a sleek grand tourer body. It’s been installed with Trasco Bremen’s TRASCO Q Line as A-KIP lightweight armoring concept. Shoot at the car with a pistol or rifle and the bullets just bounce off, leaving the driver and its occupants safe from all that firepower. Even better, the armor doesn’t add too much weight. All the extra armor installed onto the DB11 adds roughly 150 kilos to the car’s weight. That’s about 331 pounds, which is actually light for a car that’s wrapped in a protective shell.

The armor upfit is the extent of Trasco Bremen’s work on the Aston Martin DB11. The kit is available on other cars, too, though it does look particularly sexy on a DB11. As for the Aston itself, no other changes appear to have been made to the car. That means that you get what you pay for with this DB11, including a 5.2-liter turbocharged V-12 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. As it is, the DB11 needs 3.9 seconds to sprint from 0 to 62 mph, before jetting off on a top speed run that peaks at 200 mph. Perhaps the armored DB11 can accelerate to 62 mph in, say, 4.2 seconds? That would still make it faster to 62 mph than the model it succeeded, the Aston Martin DB9.

Now about its price. The listing didn’t mention a specific amount, opting only to say that pricing is available “upon request.” If you’ve been around the industry long enough, you’ll know that prices that are available “upon request” are usually more than what most of us can afford. Put it this way: the standard Aston Martin DB11 costs $220,000. Put some Level 4 armor on it, and that price could approach $280,000 to $300,000.
