Established in 2016, Lynk & Co is a Chinese brand owned by Geely, the same group that owns Volvo. Lynk & Co cars are positioned between those from Geely and Volvo, so they're pretty much entry-level premium products. Although it's a very young company, Lynk & Co has already introduced six different models in three years, all based on the Compact Modular Architecture that underpins the Volvo XC40 and the Polestar 2.

Among them there's the 03, a compact sedan that's now available in a sporty version with a "+" badge. Sports sedans are something you see very often coming from China, so YouTube's Wheelsboy got his hands on one to find out what it's all about.

It features a sportier front fender with vertical winglets at the bottom, a lowered ride height, some extra black trim to the sides, and appears to be a carbon-fiber wing in the back. It also features a race-inspired diffuser flanked by round exhaust pipes. Of course, the front fascia still looks weird thanks to its three-tier design with headlamps at the top, but I guess this is what makes it unique.

The interior is loaded with Alcantara, which is a bit unusual for a car that's not of the full-fledged premium variety. There's also perforated Alcantara on the dashboard and some sort of weird inlay material with a camouflage pattern on the door panels. It also comes with sporty seats with yellow stitching and it seems like a nice place to spend time with.

It generates 254 horsepower, 64 horses more than the regular 03 fitted with the same 2.0-liter mill. It needs 5.9 seconds to hit 60 mph, so it's pretty quick for a Lynk & Co. Having driven the 03+, Wheelsboy says it performs well in all categories, but at the end of the day is still a compact family sedan and not a sports car. But it's a performance-compact that looks funky.
