The ‘Carwow’ team brought in three hot German cars to the drag strip for a series of drag and rolling races. The contenders this time were the Audi RS5 Sportback, the BMW M3 Competition, and the Mercedes-AMG C63 Black Series. They all have different characteristics, and that is what makes the races unpredictable? Which car do you think is going to win?

A V-8, A Straight-Six, And A V-6 Once Went To The Strip Cl… Drag Strip

Power is channeled to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

A seven-speed multi-clutch automatic gearbox powers the rear wheels exclusively.

The BMW M3 weighs 3,814 pounds (1,730 kilos), around 33 pounds lighter than the 3,847-pound (1,745 kilos) Audi RS5 Sportback. Surprisingly, the car with the V-8 mill, the AMG C63, weighs the lightest – 3,770 pounds (1,710 kilos)

They started with drag races after warming up the tires. The Audi RS5, despite the worst power-to-weight ratio, was the quickest off the line. The BMW wasn't too far behind and managed to get a lead. The Mercedes just couldn’t get past either of them. This means the BMW came first, the Audi second, and the Mercedes third.

The next two drag races were exactly the same. The Audi managed to get off the line quickest in both the races, only for the BMW to get past it. The Mercedes didn’t seem like a threat to either of them. The BMW M3 recorded a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds, the Audi RS5 11.9 seconds, and the Mercedes-AMG C63 took 12.1 seconds.

Next up were the rolling races. The first round was from 50 mph in the comfort setting. Here, the M3 had the best kickdown and it maintained the lead. The BMW was followed by the Mercedes and the Audi. They then gave it a shot in the sportiest setting and locked in third gear. The AMG picked up well here, but it still couldn’t beat the BMW. The Audi, just like the previous race, was lagging behind both its German counterparts.

The final round was the brake test from 100 mph. Here, the C63 stopped in the shortest distance. The BMW came in second, whereas the Audi took the longest distance to stop.
