The Hummer EV is still a long time away, but here’s a new bit of information. GMC has filed for a new Hummer logo with the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office. It still spells out “HUMMER”, but the font is different and fresh.

Along with this, GMC sent a second application as well, requesting the “Hummer” brand name to various applications. There was one application filed with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office as well. Although things seem to progress with the reincarnated brand, when will the truck itself be revealed, GM?

The new Hummer logo looks a bit more aggressive, has sharper edges, cut-corners, and is a little asymmetrical when compared to the plain-Jane logo from the yesteryears.

I’m glad GMC didn’t play around much and didn't get carried away. The application for it was filed with the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office on February 4, 2020. Three days later, another application was filed with the USPTO requesting the brand name for application to "motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles, trucks and sport utility vehicles; bicycles."

Final Thoughts

There’s a lot of time for the EV to arrive, but GM needs to keep the enthusiasts invested by revealing details from time to time. The ongoing pandemic may further push the launch, and until then, the company needs to follow up on its Super Bowl commercials to keep the hype from going down.
