Set to make its global debut before the end of this year, the Ford Ranger has been undergoing rigorous testing in numerous markets around the world. One such country is Thailand, where the Ranger will be assembled for the Asia and Oceania region. Now, new spy photos have given us our first clear view.

Thanks to these clear photos from a Facebook user who posted these photos at Ford Ranger Club Thailand, we can clearly see the new Ranger's Maverick-inspired front end.

The front fascia is dominated by the new dual-port grille flanked by equally new C-shaped LED headlights. The clamshell hood is also new, and it features a new power dome design. Interestingly, the front bumper and foglight housings look very similar to the outgoing T6 model, suggesting that the new Ranger might not be riding on an all-new platform after all.

Also noticeable are the various wheel designs across the three prototypes. Entry-level variants such as the XLT could have six-spoke alloy wheels with a simple silver finish, while the unique two-tone wheels are most likely reserved for the higher-end variants.

There are no available spy photos of the Ranger’s rear end, but we do know that it will look similar to the previous model, albeit modernized with modern design details such as LED taillights based on the American automaker’s recent teasers.

As of this moment, we still have no clue on what the interior of the next-generation Ford Ranger will look like. Rumors have suggested that it will feature the next-generation SYNC4 infotainment system with a massive 12.8-inch vertical touch screen and 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster.

Powertrain options for the Ford Ranger are also still a mystery at this point. For the US market, we won't be surprised if the 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost gasoline engine will continue to be the main offering.

Volkswagen has already confirmed last year that the next-generation Amarok will share the same platform as the upcoming Ranger. The German automaker claims that their version will have distinct styling cues and it won't just be a simple rebadge of its American sibling.

Ford still has not revealed the exact date of the new Ranger's debut, though they did announce that it will be unveiled before the end of 2021. Given the amount of testing the pickup is already doing, the new Ford Ranger's global unveiling may happen sooner rather than later.
