Restomods are everywhere nowadays. One particularly wealthy man will be getting his Lamborghini Countach restomod made by Lamborghini themselves.
Lamborghini recently tried to get in on the retro action yet again with an event at Pirelli's Vizzola Ticino circuit which featured its "new" Countach LP 500 by belting around the track so the owner could see what it is capable of.
The release event
The event actually took place on October 9th, before the official launch at Villa d’Este. However, Lamborghini waited until now to release pictures of the event.
The reconstructed LP500 will be on display at the MUDETEC Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese through November 15, 2021. A bare tubular chassis for the LP 400, the second-ever production LP 400, a 5000 Quattrovalvole, and the first Countach Prototype will be joining the reconstruction model at the museum.
The car itself and development
The car is not an exact replica of the old Countach, but a reconstruction of the prototype. It was built over the last three years with about 25,000 hours of work put into it from Lamborghini's Polo Storico division. Lamborghini has not said how much it cost or who the owner is, but the price is certainly incredible.
In terms of technical specs, the only main difference we know of is that the front tires are 40mm (about 1.6 inches) larger than the original LP400's fronts. The rears are also 50mm (about 2 inches) larger than the original rears.
The Polo Storico division is in charge of restorations and the preservation of Lamborghinis produced before the model year 2001.

So, when are we going to get a reconstruction of the Muira? It only makes sense to re-birth one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Perhaps some company will come along and do a thorough restomod of the original supercar, or any other old Lambo. The same sort of way Eagle has made old Jaguar E-types more like works of art than cars.
