Get ready to hit the streets of Hong Kong in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crownby Khris Bharath, on
The Test Drive series is one of the longest-running automobile video game franchises of all time. The very first title was released way back in 1987, and the series has been worked on by various developers over the years.
This latest one, in chronological sequence, has been produced by Nacon, who has now showcased Unlimited Solar Crown, and the game’s new trailer looks very exciting.
This is major news for someone who has constantly wandered about the virtual islands of Oahu and Ibiza in TDU1 and TDU2, driving everything from vintage classics to supercars. I’ve always been a huge admirer of the Test Drive Unlimited series.
Yes, there are better free-roam and open-world games available, but TDU has to be one of my favorites. You could use cheat codes to acquire swanky mansions with massive garages; I recall having over 15 villas with several exotic cars to choose from. A gear-heads ultimate dream isn’t it?
What more could one ask for than unlimited money, great cars to drive, and being stranded on an amazing island? The map was nearly to scale with the actual island. I agree that the graphics and gameplay were not on par with the competition, but in this latest incarnation after nearly a decade, they do look promising.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
The new installment of the saga’s teaser video shows supercars clashing in a frenzy of horsepower and speed through the lively streets of Hong Kong, continuing with TDU’s tradition of staging their game on an Island.
The teaser depicts an Aston Martin DB11 battling a Range Rover Sport, followed by a Porsche Cayenne against a Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, and concluding with a Lamborghini Huracan Performante racing alongside a BMW i8.
The virtual streets of Hong Kong will thereafter be a riot of horsepower and speed. You will find yourself among the swanky houses and breathtaking locales. You’ll choose between one of the two competing clans featured in the game, the Streets or the Sharps, and complete several missions with a superb assortment of automobiles to choose from I am sure, as I have come to expect from the Test Drive series.
When is it out?
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is scheduled to be released on September 22, 2022, for Windows, Xbox One, Xbox One Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 and 5. Although the game is more than a year away, I for one, can’t wait for Solar Crown.
