When people think of the Nissan Skyline GT-R, it's the R34 that often comes to mind and not the R33. Still, this generation of the Skyline GT-R offered breathtaking performance during its time. But if you want the ultimate R33, here's your chance to own the final Nismo 400R ever built.

That is if you have nearly $2.2 million burning a hole in your pocket. Remember the dark green Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition? This Skyline GT-R is practically selling for twice the LFA's $1.1 million list price.

Harlow Jap Autos lists this particular Skyline GT-R Nismo 400R for £1.6 million (around $2.176 million), and it's the final vehicle in its 40-unit run to be ever produced. Making matters even rarer is the fact that only 19 are confirmed to exist today.

What makes the Skyline GT-R Nismo 400R special is the amount of engineering that turned this into a monster back in 1997. Its 2.8-liter RBX-GT2 straight-six twin-turbo engine has been modified by REINIK to feature a reinforced cylinder block and cylinder head, a new metal head gasket, new pistons with cooling channels, a forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods, just to name a few.

As a result of these upgrades, the Skyline GT-R Nismo 400R produces 400 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to power this all-wheel drive beat from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds flat. For perspective, the Ferrari F355 during its time was 0.7 seconds slower when doing a 0-60 mph run, and this is also the exact same 0-60 mph that a modern-day Toyota GR Supra is able to achieve.

Making matters even more historically significant is the fact that spare parts for the GT-R Nismo 400R were never reproduced. This could prove to be a pain in the long run, but with this specific car clocking in at 38,000 miles in the odometer, this car has at least seen the light outside of an airconditioned and humidity-controlled garage.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo 400R we also see here is painted in a special shade of Deep Marine Blue, and it's also the last R33 Skyline GT-R V-Spec to be ever produced in this color. The exterior, interior, undercarriage, engine bay, and the powertrain itself have been immaculately been taken care of. No stone has been left unturned by the detailer, and the end result is a car that looks practically new.

If you are looking for one of the rarest JDM cars out there, and assuming you have nearly $2.2 million lying around, this Skyline GT-R Nismo 400R could be yours. It's a lot of money, but it's also one heck of a sports car that has opened the doors for the R34 and then eventually the present-day GT-R R35.
