This Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Sets a Guinness Record For The Highest Number Of Donuts

It’s safe to say that the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is the first all-electric, high-riding station wagon. It’s also pretty quick with the power output ranging from 476 to 761 horsepower, depending on the version. This means that, if the driver so chooses, it can kick its rear end out without much effort, which is why it managed to set a Guinness World record for the highest number of donuts executed on ice.
The Guinness World record was achieved in snowy Sweden, by Race of Champions (ROC) test driver, Terry Grant. When it comes to donuts, more power is usually the solution, which is why the car of choice is a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Turbo S – the most powerful version of the car. The rear electric motor of the Taycan has a slightly higher output and a two-speed automatic transmission, which as you will see, allows for some tire-licious donuts.
Professional stunt and test driver, Terry Grant, makes a few attempts to break the record, but the Taycan has a problem. Too much throttle, eventually, leads to large amounts of snow getting into the wheel arches, covering some of the sensors. This causes the car to think it’s having an accident and to cut off. The first attempt was cut short at 22 donuts.
Eventually, it was decided that less power should be used. With the Taycan Cross Turismo Turbo S having 761 horsepower and 774 pound-feet (1,050 Nm), it has more than enough to perform. At the end of the day, the test driver behind the wheel of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo managed to achieve a number of 69 donuts, which, at the time of writing this, is the new Guinness World record for the highest number of donuts on ice!
