The Porsche 918 Spyder was part of a hybrid hypercar triumvirate when it was unveiled in 2015. It sat alongside the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari, and it opened the doors for more electrified sports cars and supercars since. Unsurprisingly, the 918 Spyder was only produced in limited quantities, and if you weren’t able to line up for one, here’s your chance to own one.
Listed on Bring a Trailer, the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package is currently bidding for $1,651,000, which is higher than its $1,049,200 MSRP when it was new. The car, which has a production number of 836 out of 918, came in via Porsche of Downtown Los Angeles in August 2015. It is finished in a bespoke Liquid Metal Silver with an Authentic Onyx Black leather interior with silver piping.
Some of the other features that this specific car has include a front-axle lift system, 20- and 21-inch wheels, rear-axle steering, Inconel exhaust system, reverse camera, a Burmester surround sound system, glare-reducing interior components, a luggage set, and a Schroth harness. The Alcantara-wrapped multi-function steering wheel has also been fitted with MACarbon carbon fiber trim pieces and paddle shifters in lieu of the factory aluminum pieces under current ownership, though these carbon fiber trims are removable if you want the original trims.
The $84,000 Weissach Package gives the Porsche 918 Spyder revised aerodynamics as well as exposed carbon fiber windshield exterior parts such as the windshield frame, side mirrors, removable roof panels, and extended rear diffuser.
If you’re worried about the exterior finish of this Porsche 918 Spyder, you’d be happy to know that the car has been treated with a ceramic coating and a stone shield to protect this rare hypercar from flying stones when driving at high speeds. In addition, the current owner also fitted the 918 Spyder with a Stinger laser/radar detector, so you don’t need to worry about the presence of speed detectors at freeways.
This Porsche 918 Spyder is now in its second owner, and apart from coming with a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name, the vehicle was also serviced by Porsche of Downtown LA in March 2020, which includes an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs, ignition coils, air filters, and intake pressure sensors. This 918 Spyder has done less than 1,000 miles, and approximately 850 miles of that was done by the current owner.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter naturally-aspired V-8 that works in conjunction with two electric motors, and their combined figures are 875 horsepower and 944 pound-feet of torque. When its 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is fully charged, it can travel up to 12 miles in pure electric mode. 0-100 km/h (62 mph) happens in just 2.6 seconds, while its top speed is 214 mph.

If you’ve always wanted to own a Porsche 918 Spyder, given of course that you have more than a couple of million dollars lying around the house, then this is your chance to bring home one. It is currently bidding for $1,651,000, with bidding ending in seven days as of this article’s writing.
