Earlier this week, someone spotted a rather weird looking Rolls-Royce prototype on public roads. Hidden under camouflage, it looked familiar up front, but the rear end looked more like a hearse or a really boxy wagon model. It also appeared to have beefier wheel arches. The spy video sparked rumors that Rolls-Royce may be building a new one-off model, and some went ahead and rendered a shooting brake version of the Wraith. And it looks surprisingly cool.

2022 Rolls-Royce Shooting Brake

Created by artist Wagen.Volk, the rendering boasts the front end of the familiar Rolls-Royce Wraith, but the rear end has been modified into a traditional shooting brake.} The roof now extends all the way to the back, just like on a regular station wagon, but the cabin becomes a bit narrower, making room for beefy rear fenders. It also retains the two-door layout of the coupe, while the rear section of the cabin features one long window on each side, just like a shooting brake.

But that's not all. The artist also added roof rails, something you don't see on regular Rolls-Royce models, as well as SUV-style cladding to the wheel arches and the side skirts. But it's a cool design that works with Rolls-Royce's traditional coachbuilding history, especially since it has built shooting brakes since the early days.

Rendering aside, there's no confirmation that Rolls-Royce might be working on a new one-off model, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a wagon or a shooting brake pop out of nowhere by the end of the year. Rolls-Royce built two one-off vehicles recently, the Sweptail and the Hyperion, and both cost their owners millions of dollars. Rolls-Royce will build just about anything for you if you have the money.
