Believe it or not, the Bentayga is Bentley’s best-selling model so it’s only natural for the British carmaker to allocate special attention to its luxury SUV, which is poised to see fruition once the facelifted Bentayga hits the market.

A couple of leaked images of the revised Bentayga pretty much ruined the element of surprise for Bentley as far as a reveal is concerned, but one visual artist believes the SUV would look better if it borrowed some styling cues from the Mulliner Bacalar drop-top.

Crop, paste, repeat

The Bentayga did for Bentley what the Cayenne did for Porsche, but with less eyebrows raised when it was officially announced. If Porschephiles around the world cringed back when Porsche introduced the Cayenne, Bentley’s decision to offer a $200,000+ SUV wasn’t met with similar dismay.

Regardless of how it was received, the Bentayga did its thing and brought in serious cash for Bentley. Between 2016 and 2019, the SUV reached 4,743 customers. In this context, Bentley is very interested in revamping its SUV as it powers through mid-life.

The said leaked pictures gave us a pretty good look at the tweaked Bentayga, which now flaunts a headlight design that’s more in line with the likes of Flying Spur and Continental GT. A similar treatment is expected in the rear, although there are no pics to clear the air.

But what if the Bentayga looked more like the Bacalar? Kleber Silva did that rendering exercise - in fact, all he did was literally cut the Bacalar’s face off (headlights and all) and glued it on the Bentayga, together with the roadster’s hood.

For what it's worth, however, such a move was never in the cards at Bentley because the brand wants to keep the Bacalar as exclusive as possible, while transposing its grille on a more pedestrian model would go against that desire.

Still, the Bacalar-grille Bentayga is quite a looker, don’t you think?
