The Cadillac Escalade is the perfect sample of SUV-grade luxury in the car world, right? Well, yeah, just not this 9-second quarter-mile, LSX-powered twin-turbo Escalade. ThatDudeInBlue had a chat with the owner and went for a drive he won’t forget too soon.

Talk about super SUVs…

When Lamborghini unveiled the Urus, a lot of jaws dropped. The Italians were quick to claim the super-SUV niche but the internet shows us not all good things come from a carmaker and that there are people out there capable of building their own super SUVs. With the help of tuning, of course.

Take this particular Cadillac Escalade that received a built 427 LSX (7-liter) V-8 and two fat Precision turbochargers. Oh, and his owner claims it’s the world’s fastest Escalade.

It all started out as a 2013 Escalade bought used by the owner’s dad as his work vehicle in 2014. It only had 19,300 miles on the odometer and it somehow got into Mitchell’s hands, who was supposed to drive it during college, but instead tuned it and was impressed at how quick it turned out to be - it could do 0-60 in the mid-five second range. But that wasn’t enough.

Motivated by a friend who used to take his tweaked Silverado to the drag strip, Mitchell set out to turn his Escalade into a drag strip monster. Which he did. As a result, in his words, the car should be able to do 2000 horsepower at the tires and under 20 pounds of boost, it can scorch the quarter mile in 9.5 seconds at 152 mph. Just wow.
