The Ariel Atom needs no introduction. This little dynamite is quick, fast, and gets all the attention on the road it deserves. The good folks at 'AutoTopNL' recently took a supercharged Atom to the Autobahn where it could flex its legs. The result? Well, it could go as high as 151 mph, which is very impressive for a car like Atom. A hair-raising experience… quite literally!
The Atom Was Screaming With Happiness On The Autobahn

The car redlines at well over 8,000 rpm. This means with an open roof, it can get loud. To think of it, ‘loud’ is an understatement. In this video, the Ariel Atom gets a chance to spread its legs on the no-speed-limit Autobahn. While it manages to cross 180 kmph (112 mph) on many occasions, it hits its top speed on a straight stretch of road in the second half of the video.
Here, it touches speeds of 243 kmph (151 mph) while screaming its lungs out. No wonder the driver is wearing ear plugs. Since this Atom has a windshield, the driver can skip wearing a helmet. It wouldn't have been the worst idea to wear one, though. Fortunately, there was no untoward incident in this roofless car.
What Is The Ariel Atom All About?
The Ariel Atom 4 is the latest version that’s on sale today.
Power upgrade to 350 horses is optional. Even adjustable traction control, three-stage variable boost control, and a limited-slip differential are optional. As for the suspension setup, it features single adjustable dampers, two-piece Eibach springs, double unequal length wishbones, and adjustable track and pushrods. Ohlins three-way adjustable dampers are optional. The braking duties are taken over by 11.4-inch discs with AP Racing four-piston calipers. It’s the same setup at the front and the rear. The 2021 Ariel Atom 4 starts at $79,750.
