Brooks recently got a Tesla Model X Plaid on his YouTube channel and did some quarter-mile sprints to see how quick it is. As expected, it scored some pretty good numbers. In its best run, it recorded a 0-60 mph time of 2.36 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 9.754 seconds.

To show that might over other cars, the Model X Plaid went up against the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo S. There’s no way the German is winning, and that shows how powerful and insane the Model X Plaid is. How often do you see a Porsche 911 Turbo S enter a race as the underdog?

What Powers These Two Cars?

Power is routed to all four wheels and weighs 5,333 pounds. The SUV had an 88-percent charge before the races began.

An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox drives all four wheels. At close to $250,000, it costs almost twice as much as the Model X Plaid.

Two Races, Same Result

Both the drivers had good reaction times in the first run and both the cars launched very well. While they started neck and neck, it didn’t take the Plaid long to outrun the Porsche. And, as much as it hurts to say this, the Porsche was utterly humiliated by the Tesla Model X Plaid. Unless you put in some stipulations like giving the 911 a head start or something, it is nearly impossible for the Porsche to defeat it.

Anyway, the Model X Plaid completed the run in 9.770 seconds at 145.58 mph. The Porsche, on the other hand, was almost a second slower to reach the finish line – 10.530 seconds at 128.02 mph. They raced again, but the result was the same. This time, the Model X Plaid finished the race in 9.785 seconds at 145.44 mph, whereas the 911 Turbo S did it in 10.589 seconds at 126.32 mph.
