When was the last time you saw or even heard about an EV pulling off a jump? Most probably never. Until now that is. Alex Choi put out a video of a Tesla Model S getting some serious air, only to be wrecked, seconds later. This was obviously an impromptu stunt that the owner of this Model S decided to pull off after a routine Tesla meet organized by Choi somewhere in L.A.

Overview

21-year-old Alex Choi, is quite the rage on YouTube, most known for his eccentric collection of supercars including Lamborghinis and Mclarens. But, off-late, he has turned his attention to Teslas as well. He daily drives a Model 3 and the latest addition to his garage is a Model S Plaid.

Alex organized a Tesla Meet at a local Tesla Charging station, where a gazillion other Tesla owners showed up with their pride and joy. It looks the underground bug surely has caught on with this lot as you had some pretty specd-out cars with everything from custom neon lights to custom wraps, and you can't show up at a late-night meet without a pumping audio setup.

The meet came to a close with everyone firing up the fart noise at 10 pm, and with that, a zillion Teslas rolled onto the Freeway. But, what followed was something truly dangerous.

The Jump

One of the attendees wanted to show Alex where David Dobrik jumped his Tesla Model X and so that where they headed next. You can watch what followed:

This dude managed to get this Tesla off the ground like he's done it a dozen times before. He starts off at the bottom of the hill and manages to build decent speed, enough to launch the almost 5,000-pound EV in the air for three whole seconds, and landing nose first in a flurry of sparks. You can literally hear the car disintegrating to pieces.

Almost immediately after landing, the guy takes out a couple of trash cans on the sidewalk and the Tesla with its hood now open rear-ends a parked SUV, a Subaru Forester. Looks like someone is gonna need a brand new rear bumper. Apparently, it was this guy, Jordan Hooks Forester. He says that the steering column, wheels, and the suspension of his car was also severely damaged, no longer making it usable.

The Totaled Tesla Model S

As for the Tesla, its entire front end disintegrated and Alex managed to find the radiator on the other side of the road. The suspension had collapsed and all the airbags had been deployed.

Do You Remember This

Watching this Tesla obviously bright back memories from the final closing scenes of the Original Fast and the Furious, where Brian's 10 second Supra also got some air. Now, while that was probably performed by a stunt driver in a controlled environment, what we just witnessed with this Model S, now that was for real.

To Wrap it up

If you thought the driver was alone while attempting this stunt, think again. You can clearly see a passenger sitting in the rear, with his hand sticking out, bracing for impact. Must've been one hell of a ride.

But, regardless, this was frankly extremely dangerous and it could have been so much worse. Thankfully, the guys in the car were able to just get out of the car and walk home, but when people are in line waiting to get their hands on their Model S, some out there are easily short north of 100Gs.
