As for why the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 was chosen as the commemorative car to celebrate Tomica’s 50th-anniversary celebration at the 2020 Tokyo Salon, that likely boils down to the fact that the high-powered race car received huge updates ahead of the 2020 Super GT season where it will be competing. The GT-R NISMO GT500 will compete against the likes of the Toyota Supra GT500 and the front-engine Honda NSX race car so all the updates it received should come in handy when racing season officially starts.
