The Top Gear trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond may be all fun and jokes in front of the camera, but despite their cunning wit and silly banter, these three all share a unique similarity: they know everything and anything there is to know about cars.

When they say a car is good or bad, their opinions carry more clout than the standard human because they’ve done their homework through countless hours of testing, free drives, and taped segments on the show. And now that we’re nearing the end of an amazingly eventful year, the trio have decided to finally release their choice of vehicles that will be included in the 11th Top Gear Awards.

With categories ranging from Hypercar of the Year, Grand Tourer of the Year, Coupe of the Year, and even Engine of the Year, the three hosts took everything they’ve seen, heard, and driven in 2010 to come up with a winner for each respective category.

In addition to these categories, Clarkson, May, and Hammond also picked their favorite cars of the year regardless of make, model, and type. Care to find out the award winners?

Check them out after the jump.

I completely miss the Top Gear UK!Anyway, I think the cars on the list are deserving to have their award. I certainly agree on them.

Good Choice! Hypercars, Cabrio, Tourer is much expensive. And you will be needed a great money before you could actually afford to have one. I think Volkswagen Golf R is the cheapest among the list.

it’s that time when everyone starts rolling out their year-end "Best of" lists and revisits their favorite rides of 2010. Top Gear is in on the action, naming its annual award winners.

oh well too much efforts for the European Cars they didn’t make a review on japanese and American cars. also korean car such hyundai and Kia should not be taken granted.

I like the cars in this top, but I must agree with the other fellows in here, that this is an over exaggerated promoting european cars big time.

I’m betting that that Fiat Engine is made by Toyota looool

Shame on this highly subjective list of winners. In my appreciation, the Bentley and Jaguar are nice cars, however not for a top of this magnitude.

What did you expected, those guys are promoting their country production. If you look at the world market and street, you will see almost no english cars. However in this top they show us a Jaguar and a Bentley. I’m deeply surprised they didn’t fitted in a Aston Martin and a Range Rover! No place in this top for a Lexus, Acura maybe?

agree on that, Top Gear didn’t choose any japanese car, and thant makes me wonder why... Hyundai should also include to the selections.

well i say this TOP GEAR is kinda bias to their cars, actually japanese cars are rated as the highest rank in terms of reliability and costs, why in the wold didn’t they include some Japaneses car here? but wait what are their basis getting a top rank vehicle?

i’m pretty sure that top gear hates citroen with their entire soul.. wtf?!?!

Yeah, I loved that series when they drive a Hillux to the North Pole. Aside of that and maybe the Lamborghini show, these guys are no better than Fifth Gear and others. In other words their top is just like any other.

Citroen and Jaguar? I mean, common!!! Indeed this top should be about concept and all the other details, no matter the price. That is why it’s a top. It’s not a cheaper car top!!!

Some of these cars I have seen live. All of them are indeed great choices, but the fact remains that most of them are unaffordable for a normal person. These 12 items probably cost $2-4 milion! Looking forward for some refined cars that are affordable for people that are not millionaires.
