Top Gear is invading U.S. soil again and this time they have picked Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina as their picture perfect setting. The trio of James May, Jeremy Clarkson, and Richard Hammond showed up in the Tar Heel state to film the opening to an episode on NASCAR Country. Arriving in style, May showed up in aFerrari 458 Italia, Clarkson arrived in a Mercedes Benz AMG SLS Gullwing, and Hammond rolled in with a Porsche 911 GT3.

It’s not surprising that the UK trio were picked over their freshly chosen American counterparts. Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara, and Rutledge Wood may be the U.S.’s choice for our version of Top Gear, but they still have a long way to go to prove to the world that they have what it takes to fill the Top Gear UK shoes. At least now it seems they are getting their very own Stig. That’s definitely some sort of start.

I’m actually surprised that the 458 was given to May but i guess the fact that he has an F430 did have something to do with it in the end. That and i bet they’ll be a joke about the fires and if it wouldn’t matter if they lost James or something.

Those trio are definitely the finest pick for the network, and their Stig should also be in it too.
